ELVIprUP  

The project ELVIprUP  focused on the upgrading of a plastic blown film production plant (ELVIPLAS S.A.) in the direction of Industry 4.0 by optimizing its process line and automatic monitoring and control of parameters that affect the properties of the final products. To do so, analysis, prediction, decision support through vast data collection from measurable properties of the process, where SCADA systems and last generation sensors got installed to acquire for modeling and predicting the behavior of the production line.

Digitalization

Installation offered the digitalization of data on easy to use central control units. Interface includes data predictions and automated parameter regulation for best performance. Monitoring and managing data as well as regulating parameters to optimize performance are also remotely done beside the central control units. The data management and user interface were developed through SCADA software.

RESULTS

• First year net profit increase up to 100%
• First operational year revenue increase up to 2.4% and 5% annually after that.
• Energy consumption reduction equivalent to 230 tons of CO2
• Scrap material maximum reduction to 40%
